My letter to a "warrior of truth"

My Letter to a columnist whose pen never stops from expressing the truth:

Dear Mr. M R,

Assalamu Alaikum,

I am a young unimportant citizen of this unfortunate country. But that is my second depiction. First of all I am an unimportant, uncountable, but appreciative reader of your column regularly published in The Daily "xx". I am writing this mail to you today with profound gratitude. Although I m in doubt whether you will ever read this mail, but I felt it a necessity for me to write and let you know my opinion.

If it ever reaches you (?), this mail, might find you in such a situation when you are ready for being arrested at any moment. However, I know that you are not at all afraid for this. As you know for sure that truth is of course to win, you have no reason to fear.

I felt I must write this letter to you, to express my thanks, for it’s through your few columns I have read, that I realized what is the situation that we are really residing in.
It is very true that we young ones are exposed to enough elements in this society which are devoted to distract us from thinking about our lives, our culture, our heritage, our country and moreover, our future. We prefer the djuice Rockstar concerts to any kind of boring seminar symposiums. Our busy (?) life filled with worthless time-outs with friends and families in the Pizza Hut’s, KFC’s and many more of that kind can hardly allow us to think about our beautiful country and its even more beautiful future. Where is the time for us to read newspapers or watch news channels? We have enough programs to watch, and, even participate (CloseUp1, Lux Channel I super star hunt). We can now easily dream of being a superstar, why should we waste our time thinking about this country?

I wasn’t in any way different from these brilliant (?) youngsters of our country. I used to read newspapers, but that was limited till the Entertainment/sports page. Life was as smooth to me as Thai Airways, until I started reading your column regularly. It didn’t happen suddenly. Although we youngsters living in Bangladesh might not seem to be thinking about our country that much, our expatriate siblings have found enough good reasons to do this important job. It was through such a brother of mine that I got the reinforcement to be a regular reader of your columns, and since then, I didn’t stop. Your email address attached at the end always induced me to write something to you, but I never seemed to make the time/ courage to do so.

However your last article influenced me so much that I thought, it would be unthankful of me if I don’t express my gratitude, thanks, appreciation, support and prayers for you at this critical moment of your life. I must say thanks for it was through the knowledge I derived from your articles that I could answer correctly when our Public Finance Sir was asking about the inflation rate of our country. I must say thanks for it was through your articles that I realized how all the economic indicators of our country are showing a very poor grade. And it is through your article that I started to realize, there is not enough reason for us to be “happily living after” as our “fairy tale” of the birth of a beautiful country is over.
Thank you, dear Warrior of Truth, as that is all what I can name you.
I simply pray to Allah that He rewards you in the Eternal Life for your conscious efforts, for which, you may have to pay a big price in this worldly life.
If that happens, just be happy to think that the support, gratitude, prayers, thanks and appreciation of many readers like me will always be with you.
‘And say, “Truth has come and the falsehood has vanished. And surely, falsehood is ever bound to be vanished”’ (Al Quran: 17:81)

With best regards,
An indebted reader of your columns,
......
